There was another family from Virginia waiting with us. When we got on board, we were a little surprised at the condition of the shuttle. It was kinda gross. One of the teenagers went to put her pillow on the seat and her mother and I both reacted - Don't do that! The Fox headquarters was equally yucky. The floors were concrete and unkempt. It looked like an abandoned facility that had been taken over by FOX.

The combination of fatigue and disgust is not good!

Fortunately, we didn't have to wait long before a reservations specialist started helping us. I gave her my name and she pulled up our reservation, She apologized for not having the car I reserved because it was recalled. In the last 48 hours?  I just made the reservation!

Of course, the agreement said "Jeep Cherokee or equivalent SUV". She started explaining the benefits of having all wheel drive vs 4 wheel drive and recommended that I go with all wheel drive vehicle. At this point, I am well aware of the fact that she is going to give me whatever vehicle they have available.

"I just want a car - any car.  I needed to be up at 5:30. By the time we get to the hotel, we'll be lucky if we get 4 hours of sleep," I really didn't care what she gave us, but it was a Kia. That works! She could have given me anything from a Geo Metro to a Hummer. I just wanted to leave.

"Are you going to be using our toll roads?" For $11.50 a day, I could have unlimited access to the toll roads. How am I supposed to know?

"Do you want to prepay for gas?  You can by 1/2 tank or a full tank?"

"Do you want insurance coverage?"

I was getting increasingly cranky, "I prepaid for the car. I have insurance. I don't want you to talk to me anymore. I will return the car with a full tank of gas. I am tired. I don't want you to explain anything else. I don't want to pay anything extra. Please just give me the keys so I can leave."

"Can I have your credit card?"

FOR WHAT???  It's a prepaid reservation. You already have my money!

"We require a $150 deposit."

I paid the $150 and signed a bunch of stuff without reading it in exchange for the keys to a white Kia. By the time we got to the Quality Inn & Suites located in Auroa, it was after midnight. Ugh.
