A few weeks ago, we met with a reporter from the Richmond Times-Dispatch to talk about skydiving in every state. I was anxiously awaiting the publication of her article. The online version of the article was published on October 17th and subsequently in print on the 18th. For the most part, the article is good, but there were a couple of errors.

Everything in blue is from the article.

In three short years, they’ve gone skydiving in all 50 states.

We had 8 states when we started. In three years, we finished the other 42.

It was their first time skydiving from a hot-air balloon.

It was my first hot-air balloon jump, but not Matt's first.

After their eighth jump, Sarah thought, “We already have eight. Why not 50?”

In the fall of 2013, Matt and I had already been to 8 states. It should say after the eight STATE.

At the time, I had almost 700 jumps.

Since then, Sarah and Matt have traveled to 50 states, 60 drop zones and driven over 20,000 miles to accomplish their goal.

Since then, Sarah and Matt have traveled to the other 42 states.

All totaled, we drove nearly 28,000 miles to achieve this goal.

After her first marriage ended, the two ran into each other again at another skydiving event. They started dating, fell in love and got married in 2010.

We met in 2005 at Bridge Day and have been friends ever since.

One last thing...

Not only did we skydive in every state, our 50th state was monumental for me because it was my 1,000th and Matt's 1,300th skydive!

Thanks again to the Richmond Times-Dispatch for writing about our adventure.
